Hello friends, thanks for stopping by! We are Charlie and Renee Eich. We are a husband and wife team who proudly own River Drifters. We have been in the restaurant business most of our adult lives. We have three children ages 18, 13 and 3 who often help in the family business.

Most recently we owned Cheeburger Cheeburger of Chattanooga.

In March of 2016 our world came crumbling down; Literally.

Our restaurant collapsed. Being an old historic building it gave out and crashed down into a pile of rubble. The life we spent 20 years building was gone.

What now? We were facing a bit of a financial dilemma. What’s next? The bills are still coming in so we had to do something.

To clear my head one day, I set out on a motorcycle ride. One of my favorite rides is over Signal Mountain. I cross the top and drop down into the Sequatchie Valley. There a beautiful little church at the bottom where 283 intersects. I turn left there and another left, miles down that scenic country road onto Suck Creek Road. Full disclosure, that’s where the therapy begins. Suck Creek Road is a known spot for motorcycle enthusiasts. It’s beauty coupled with the many twisties make for a great way to clear your head.

This is how it all began. After crossing Suck Creek Mountain and Just about 100 yards before the Chattanooga City limits sign, there she sat. A beautiful location on the Tennessee River with a for sale or lease sign calling my name.

Was this the one? The next day we called the broker and scheduled the meeting. It was perfect! You know the old saying, “when one door closes another one opens?” I couldn’t sight a more perfect example.

About 10 years ago I went to Sea School in Bayou La Batre, Alabama were I proudly earned my Captains License. There are a few things I really enjoy; The natural beauty of The Tennessee River, Boating and water activities, and serving guests. The fit was perfect.

As they say…”The rest is history.”

We opened our doors July 2nd, 2018. We pledge to you a great time on the water with a VERY safe experience as well as a top notch restaurant and bar on premise so we can serve you after your relaxing day paddling our little gem here in the River Gorge.
